Lightning Developer

As a Lightning Developer at Blox Space, you join one of Bitcoin's historic payment companies, active since 2014 and serving over a million customers across 180 countries. You own critical responsibilities across Bitcoin and Lightning infrastructure, from payment system management and protocol implementations to security and the production deployment of new payment technologies. The company is a tight-knit, globally distributed team that ships real code to production.

What you'll do

• Manage and improve Bitcoin and Lightning payment infrastructure, from routine upgrades to deep stack-level interventions
• Work directly on Lightning implementations, payment channels, and liquidity management
• Analyze payment flows and conduct forensic investigation following incidents
• Implement crypto security systems including key management, HSM, and fund protection
• Integrate new Bitcoin and Lightning technologies and bring new payment protocols to production, including payjoin, nostr-based flows, and agentic commerce on Lightning

What you bring

• Several years of professional software development with proven track record shipping real products to production
• Deep understanding of the Lightning protocol and Bitcoin fundamentals, not just how to use them but why they work
• Hands-on experience with at least one Lightning implementation (LND, CLN, Eclair, or LDK)
• Strong backend development skills: Node.js and TypeScript proficiency, familiarity with Python
• AI-native development approach: you already use Claude, Codex, Cursor, or similar tools as a core part of how you design and write code
• Crypto-native mindset: you use these technologies, follow the space, need no explanation of Bitcoin, and autonomously identify and pursue opportunities without waiting for a roadmap
