Blockchain Engineer (Remote)

As a Blockchain Engineer at Propine, you will work directly with the CTO and the Engineering team to develop and maintain products that transform capital markets using blockchain technology. Propine is reinventing capital markets by reimagining the issuance and lifecycle management of capital market products like equities, debt, structured products and funds on blockchain, and is the first licensed custodian for digital assets in the world, recognized by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS).

What you'll do

• Contribute to the ideation, technical design, implementation, and testing of product features that transform capital markets
• Implement support for various blockchain architectures and integrate applications to native blockchains
• Design and deliver REST APIs, interfaces and database schemas to ensure scalability, maintainability, and performance
• Develop internal back-office website applications end-to-end, covering UX, database, and APIs
• Produce high-quality, scalable software following good architecture and design principles, and contribute to test automation within an agile team
• Participate actively in architecture reviews, code reviews, design reviews, and postmortems to raise the bar for engineering best practices
• Document changes and guides for applications
• Setup and secure blockchain nodes, wallets and application servers
• Write scripts to automate the deployment of infrastructure
• Perform regular maintenance on servers and nodes to ensure business continuity
• Participate in on-call rotation for incidents
• Document steps and processes for infrastructure setup and maintenance
• Provide technical support for customers and the operations team
• Document solutions for common problems
• Perform operational duties on a rotational basis and document operational processes
• Follow defined processes to ensure compliance is met
• Stay abreast of developments in cryptocurrencies and digital assets

What you bring

• A degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering
• 4-7 years of hands-on coding experience
• Professional experience writing applications using Typescript/JavaScript
• Comfortable with database technology such as MySQL, SQL Server, or Oracle
• Experience managing Linux servers
• Foundation level knowledge and programming experience with Bitcoin, Ethereum or other cryptocurrencies
• Experience building and deploying applications and services into cloud environments, specifically AWS
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, complex technical environment with high adaptability and flexibility
• Professional experience working in an agile development environment
• Knowledge of CI/CD practices
• Excellent communication and sharp analytical abilities with proven design skills and the ability to think critically about system growth and stability

Nice to have

• Experience with Ruby on Rails, React and Redux
• Experience working with startups
