Compliance Analyst

As a Compliance Analyst at Fiat Republic, you join the Global Compliance Team to support compliance operations across multiple jurisdictions. Fiat Republic is a London-based fintech providing banking and payment infrastructure for cryptocurrency companies, operating under electronic money and money service business licenses in the UK, EU, US, and Canada, and serving as an issuer of MiCAR-compliant stablecoins.

What you'll do

• Act as a first line of defence for compliance operations on AML/KYC issues, with responsibility for early detection and identification of financial crime risks
• Manage end-to-end KYC/CDD reviews, including onboarding, documentation verification, risk classification, approval recommendations, periodic reviews, remediation, and ongoing due diligence
• Review and process customer documents and conduct compliance assessments of their internal compliance frameworks in line with internal policies
• Conduct enhanced due diligence on higher-risk customers, including PEP/sanctions screening, adverse media checks, source of funds and wealth assessments, geographic exposure analysis, and ownership structure evaluations
• Escalate red flags and potential risks associated with customer activities to senior team members
• Draft internal procedures and work on their effective implementation across jurisdictions
• Assist with compliance operations activities across different jurisdictions where Fiat Republic operates, ensuring timely and quality submission of documents
• Train and coach new joiners on compliance processes and standards
• Monitor industry developments and trends, recommending changes to the compliance program as necessary
• Collaborate with teams across different office locations
• Work morning or afternoon shifts as needed
• Support ad-hoc compliance duties as assigned by your supervisor

What you bring

• 2+ years of KYC/KYB professional experience within a financial services environment, with EMI or fintech experience being a significant advantage
• Strong understanding of local and global AML/KYC regulations, with specific knowledge of Netherlands and UK legal requirements being a strong plus
• Experience with the cryptocurrency market, which is a very significant advantage
• Ability to work hands-on and independently on business-as-usual tasks while the company scales
• Ability to manage multiple customers while maintaining a commitment to compliance with both the letter and spirit of laws and regulations
• Bachelor's degree with affinity for the financial sector; certified compliance education is a strong plus
• Excellent English oral and written communication skills
• Self-starter capable of working autonomously with minimal supervision, and a collaborative team member
• Demonstrated commitment to excellence and continuous improvement
