Compliance Officer

EX.IO is looking for a Compliance Officer to join our virtual asset trading platform in Hong Kong. You will help ensure the platform operates in full compliance with relevant regulations, support licensing applications, and drive compliance programs across the business.

What you'll do

• Update policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all relevant rules and regulations
• Participate in licensing applications for regulated virtual asset services
• Identify compliance gaps across internal functions and drive projects to close them, developing best practices in the process
• Prepare Compliance Programme Training materials and maintain relevant records; influence and negotiate with senior colleagues and management; liaise with external consultants and lawyers as needed
• Perform compliance control and monitoring programs including control room oversight, AML monitoring, and trade surveillance
• Handle other compliance and ad hoc matters assigned by the Head of Compliance

What you bring

• University degree in Law, Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field
• Sound knowledge of the Securities and Futures Ordinance, SFC VATP Guidelines, SFC AML/CTF Guidelines, and other relevant codes and regulations
• 2 to 5 years of relevant compliance or audit experience from sizable institutions such as investment banks, virtual asset exchanges, financial regulators, or Big4 professional firms
• A strong interest in the blockchain industry
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Self-motivated, independent, meticulous, analytical, and responsible approach to work
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask and work under pressure
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and deliver results
• Creative thinking and proactive problem-solving ability
• Proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese

Nice to have

• Industry-recognized financial crime or AML qualification such as ACAMS or ICA
• Previous experience dealing with regulators such as the SFC or HKMA
• Experience with external professional service providers such as lawyers or consultants
• Fluency in Mandarin
