Crypto Operations Associate - APAC

As a Crypto Operations Associate at Alpaca, you join a 100% distributed remote team within the Crypto division, reporting directly to the Global Director of Crypto Operations. You support a US-headquartered global leader in agent-first brokerage infrastructure serving hundreds of financial institutions and over 10 million brokerage accounts across 40 countries.

What you'll do

• Monitor and conduct daily surveillance of all customer activity
• Execute daily operational tasks including trading, new accounts, and cash management functions
• Handle cryptocurrency trading executions and exceptions, including errors and corrections
• Assist with customer onboarding, including KYC and account approval processes
• Review general ledger accounts, identify discrepancies, and reconcile account balances
• Support the Anti-Money Laundering Program and investigations related to suspected suspicious activity
• Proactively drive impactful changes across workflows, policies and tools
• Communicate clearly with internal and external partners in a tactical and insightful manner
• Execute ad hoc duties and projects as assigned

What you bring

• 3+ years of relevant experience in a broker-dealer, financial services, trading, or cryptocurrency operations role
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
• Familiarity with cryptocurrency, or a strong desire to learn
• Ability to work effectively and supportively within a team as well as independently
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing business and regulatory environment
• Ownership mindset and enthusiasm for taking on new challenges and responsibilities

Nice to have

• Startup mindset and experience in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
• Familiarity or interest in FinTech, financial markets, cryptocurrencies, or investing applications
