Crypto Operations Associate - APAC

As a Crypto Operations Associate at Alpaca, you join the 100% distributed Crypto team reporting directly to the Global Director of Crypto Operations. You monitor and manage daily crypto operations for a global brokerage infrastructure serving hundreds of financial institutions and over 10 million brokerage accounts across 40 countries.

What you'll do

• Monitor and surveil all customer activity on a daily basis
• Execute daily operational tasks including cryptocurrency trading executions, new account approvals, and cash management functions
• Handle trading exceptions including errors and corrections
• Assist with customer onboarding, including KYC reviews and account approval
• Review general ledger accounts, identify discrepancies, and reconcile accounts
• Support the Anti-Money Laundering Program and investigations into suspected suspicious activity
• Proactively drive impactful changes across workflows, policies, and tools
• Communicate clearly with internal and external partners in an effective and insightful manner
• Take on ad hoc duties and projects as assigned

What you bring

• 3+ years of relevant experience in a broker-dealer, financial services, trading, or cryptocurrency operations role
• A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• Familiarity with cryptocurrency or a strong desire to learn
• Ability to work effectively and supportively within a team as well as independently
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing business and regulatory environment
• Willingness to take ownership of new responsibilities and embrace challenges
