Cryptography Research Engineer

As a Cryptography Research Engineer at QEDIT, you join the core engineering team to work on privacy-first, next-generation blockchain technology. Our stack is primarily built in Rust with some components in C++, and we use zero-knowledge proofs, elliptic curve cryptography, and other cutting-edge cryptographic techniques. This role operates within the European time zone.

What you'll do

• Contribute to the design and implementation of advanced cryptographic protocols
• Work closely with researchers and engineers to translate theory into production-grade code
• Take part in internal and external reviews of cryptographic primitives and implementations
• Participate in collaborations with academic and industry partners
• Audit cutting-edge cryptographic libraries
• Apply formal verification methods on highly sensitive codebases

What you bring

• Strong programming experience in Rust
• Understanding of applied cryptography and familiarity with concepts like zero-knowledge proofs, elliptic curves, and blockchain protocols
• Curiosity and drive to learn new cryptographic tools and frameworks
• Good communication and teamwork skills

Nice to have

• Experience in auditing or verifying cryptographic codebases
• Contributions to open-source cryptography or blockchain projects
• Publications or participation in cryptography research communities
• Familiarity with formal verification methods with emphasis on cryptography
