DeFi Research & Strategy Specialist

As a DeFi Research & Strategy Specialist at ZXBots, you translate developments in decentralized finance into practical research, business recommendations, and automation opportunities. You will evaluate protocols, analyze on-chain activity, and investigate how AI tools can improve research and operational workflows. Working with consulting and technical colleagues, you help assess potential DeFi use cases and develop evidence-based proposals for client engagements.

What you'll do

• Research decentralized exchanges, lending protocols, staking mechanisms, stablecoins, and emerging DeFi ecosystems
• Evaluate protocol business models, token economics, governance, liquidity, adoption, and competitive positioning
• Analyze on-chain data and protocol metrics, distinguishing sustainable activity from temporary incentives and speculative demand
• Assess smart contract, oracle, liquidation, counterparty, and liquidity risks when evaluating protocols and potential use cases
• Identify opportunities to automate data collection, monitoring, reporting, and other DeFi research workflows using AI and analytical tools
• Collaborate with consulting and technical teams to develop research briefs, strategy presentations, and client proposals
• Maintain research dashboards, document assumptions, and review findings as market conditions and protocol designs evolve

What you bring

• At least 2 years of relevant experience in DeFi research, crypto analytics, financial research, strategy, or Web3 projects (substantive independent research will also be considered)
• Strong understanding of DeFi mechanics, including automated market makers, collateralized lending, staking, liquidity provision, and token incentives
• Hands-on familiarity with wallets and DeFi applications; personal investing experience and independent projects are welcome
• Experience with tools such as DefiLlama, Dune, blockchain explorers, and Excel or Google Sheets; SQL or Python skills are advantageous
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to validate data, challenge assumptions, and communicate uncertainty
• Clear writing, presentation, and collaboration skills, with the ability to manage research priorities independently in a remote environment
• A degree in finance, economics, computer science, mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience demonstrated through research samples or project work

What we offer

• Base salary of USD 110,000 - 130,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications
