Financial Analyst

As a Financial Analyst at Cantina, you'll build the Finance function for a fast-growing company founded by Sean Parker. This is a hands-on role focused on accounts payable, expense coding, payment operations, and financial reporting. You'll ensure invoices are coded correctly, vendors are paid on time, and the Finance team has clear visibility into cash requirements and company spending.

What you'll do

• Own the AP workflow from invoice intake through approval and payment, ensuring accuracy, proper documentation, and on-time processing
• Code expenses across the right GL accounts, departments, cost centers, projects, and reporting categories to keep financial data clean and reporting reliable
• Prepare payment batches and clear payment reports for Finance leadership, highlighting upcoming obligations, exceptions, and items requiring attention
• Maintain AP aging and vendor schedules and help Finance understand upcoming cash requirements
• Investigate and resolve duplicate invoices, missing approvals, incorrect coding, vendor discrepancies, and payment issues
• Partner across the company to make invoice approvals, expense coding, and purchasing processes easier and more efficient
• Support month-end AP reconciliations, accruals, expense analysis, and supporting schedules
• Prepare reporting on company spending, vendors, payments, outstanding liabilities, and expense trends
• Identify repetitive manual work and help implement better workflows, integrations, and automation
• Take on projects across cash forecasting, budgeting, reporting, financial analysis, and finance systems as you develop

What you bring

• 0-2 years of experience in accounting, finance, or a related analytical role
• A degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field
• A solid understanding of accounting fundamentals, including AP, GL coding, and reconciliations
• Strong Excel and Google Sheets skills and confidence working with financial data
• Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to notice when something doesn't look right and investigate why
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines
• Clear communication skills and confidence working with people across different teams
• A high degree of ownership and the ability to see things through to completion
• Curiosity about systems, automation, and how technology can make Finance better
• Comfort operating in an environment where processes are still evolving
