Group Tax Director

As Group Tax Director at OKG, you become the global subject matter expert on tax strategy and compliance for a leading crypto exchange and blockchain ecosystem. You guide executive stakeholders through complex tax issues across Pillar Two, indirect tax, direct tax, transfer pricing, digital services taxes, and crypto-specific taxation. You direct regional and cross-regional tax management systems, lead enterprise engagements with tax authorities and consultants worldwide, and shape group policy in response to evolving global tax legislation including crypto and digital economy developments.

What you'll do

• Serve as the Group subject matter expert for global tax across Pillar Two, indirect tax, direct tax, transfer pricing, DSTs, and crypto-specific taxes, providing strategic guidance to executive stakeholders and other departments on complex financial and tax-related issues
• Direct regional and cross-regional financial tax management systems, providing oversight of global tax compliance to ensure proper collection, controls, and reporting across 4+ financial management modules
• Lead enterprise engagements with tax authorities and tax consultants globally on group tax matters, and direct global tax controversy defense strategies
• Shape group policy and strategy in response to new global tax legislation including crypto and digital economy developments, evaluate its group-wide implications, and brief executive leadership and the wider business
• Establish the group tax risk matrix, identify financial tax risks and opportunities, solve complex issues within finance and other departments, and develop actionable corporate strategies
• Spearhead group-wide tax initiatives, implementing best-in-class tax processes and SOPs while refining common team challenges into standardized solutions and promoting them internally
• Drive cross-regional implementation and governance of tax determination engines and automation tools for key group tax compliance reporting including indirect tax, country-by-country reporting, and Pillar 2

What you bring

• A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Law, Economics, or Taxation; Master's in Tax, LL.M., or professional qualification such as CPA, CA, or CTA
• At least 12 to 15+ years of relevant experience in international and group tax, with proven leadership within a multinational organization and/or Big 4
• Deep group-level mastery across global tax regulations, with proven experience delivering results across 4+ financial management modules
• Experience leading global tax strategy and compliance in digital or financial services
• Ability to solve difficult, complex financial and tax issues in a fast-paced, ambiguous, and evolving environment, and extend solution frameworks to non-finance departments
• Proactive, strategic mindset with the ability to direct cross-regional financial systems independently
• Willingness to be hands-on, mentor teams, and promote standardized solution plans cross-functionally
• Proficiency in English as a working language and fluency in Mandarin to communicate effectively with Mandarin-speaking executive stakeholders
