Head of DeFi

As Head of DeFi at Symbiotic, you'll drive partnerships, DeFi integrations, and strategic alliances across the platform. You work closely with the CEO and product leads, operating at a defining moment as Symbiotic shapes the next generation of onchain finance. Symbiotic is the infrastructure beneath collateral markets, enabling neofinance applications like credit, insurance, and RWA liquidity by changing the economics of onchain collateral.

What you'll do

• Support the leadership team with business development across product verticals, streamlining partner pipelines, maintaining the CRM with call notes, and coordinating materials, research, and project management
• Bring strategic perspective to Symbiotic's commercial strategy and identify market opportunities and strategic alliances that position Symbiotic to win market share
• Maintain up-to-date intelligence on target accounts
• Leverage your network to open doors and accelerate deals
• Collaborate with leadership and the product team to develop and execute Symbiotic's growth strategy
• Engage with the customer base and broader DeFi community, gather feedback on Symbiotic's offering, and incorporate insights into product roadmaps and development initiatives

What you bring

• Strong evidence of commercial success with deals and strategic alliances you've closed
• Strong negotiation skills with real pushing power; you hold terms, close deals, and bring energy to conversations
• Deep, pre-existing network among liquid crypto-native funds, DeFi curators, and blue-chip protocol founders
• DeFi fluency with a track record of driving measurable growth in TVL, liquidity, or protocol adoption; you understand value flows across lending, CDPs, DEXs, and yield-bearing stablecoins
• Hands-on experience as or alongside curators, allocating capital into onchain assets and vaults, and building or running liquidity mining programmes
• Understanding of how governance works and how major protocols make decisions; you've taken an asset or product through that process to get it integrated
• Winning mentality and ability to work independently
• Deep understanding of the lending and borrowing product landscape
• Entrepreneurial mindset and passion for building onchain financial applications
