Head of EEA Legal, Deputy General Counsel

As Head of EEA Legal and Deputy General Counsel at OKX, you will lead the legal function across the European Economic Area, working closely with the EEA CEO and reporting into the Global Legal team. You will shape OKX's regulatory and legal strategy in the EEA, provide strategic guidance for the European entity, and sit on the EU management team. This is a high-profile role combining hands-on legal management, cross-functional advisory, and strategic leadership in a rapidly evolving regulatory and crypto landscape.

What you'll do

• Support OKX's business expansion in the EEA as the primary legal point of contact for the OKX EEA entity, including licensing and legal efforts to expand into the UK market
• Advise on product development, regulatory matters, IP and trademark enforcement, corporate governance, licensing, contract negotiation, compliance, institutional sales and partnerships, and marketing and advertising
• Analyze and advise on the legal risk of new and existing digital assets, managing the legal component of the new asset review process
• Lead and manage lawyers covering the EEA to coordinate legal efforts and achieve successful outcomes
• Collaborate with product and business development teams on company-wide projects and goals
• Manage legal requests from all areas of the business and advise on legal concepts and legal risk with attention to strategic business objectives
• Represent OKX in relevant industry associations and regulatory consultations

What you bring

• A law degree from a top-tier law school and qualification to practice law in the EEA
• 14+ years of legal experience at a top-tier law firm and/or in-house legal team, preferably in the cryptocurrency, digital assets, or financial services industry
• Experience advising on digital asset and blockchain technology legal issues with strong understanding of the relevant legal and regulatory landscape
• Experience working with EU regulators and maintaining EU financial services and/or crypto exchange licenses
• Strong communication and leadership skills with excellent judgment
• Ability to work independently and as a team member in a fast-paced, growth-stage, multi-cultural environment with limited reliance on external counsel
• Ability to effectively advise and build trust with business teams
• Comfort navigating a rapidly-changing legal landscape and dealing with legal ambiguity
• Experience working on cross-jurisdictional matters and with global legal teams
