Head of EEA Legal, Deputy General Counsel

As Head of EEA Legal and Deputy General Counsel at OKX, you will lead the legal function across the European Economic Area, working closely with the EEA CEO and reporting into the Global Legal team. You will shape OKX's regulatory and legal strategy in the EEA, provide strategic guidance for the European entity, and serve as a member of the EU management team representing the legal function at Board and committee meetings. This role combines hands-on legal management, cross-functional advisory, and strategic leadership in a rapidly evolving regulatory and crypto landscape.

What you'll do

• Support OKX's business expansion across the EEA, serving as the primary legal point of contact for the OKX EEA entity and supporting licensing and legal efforts to expand into the UK market
• Advise on a full range of legal coverage areas including product development, regulatory matters, IP and trademark enforcement, corporate governance, licensing efforts, token listings for OKX Europe, contract negotiation, compliance, institutional sales and partnerships, and marketing and advertising
• Analyze and advise on the legal risk of new and existing digital assets, managing the legal component of the new asset review process
• Lead and manage lawyers covering the EEA to ensure legal efforts are coordinated and achieve successful outcomes
• Collaborate with product and business development teams to support company-wide projects and goals
• Manage legal requests from all areas of the business and advise on legal concepts and legal risk aligned with strategic business objectives
• Represent OKX in relevant industry associations and promote OKX's viewpoint in consultation efforts

What you bring

• 14+ years of legal experience at a top-tier law firm and/or in-house legal team, preferably in the cryptocurrency, digital assets, or financial services industry
• Law degree from a top-tier law school and qualified to practice law in the EEA
• Deep experience advising on digital asset and blockchain technology legal issues with strong understanding of the relevant legal and regulatory landscape
• Experience working with EU regulators and maintaining EU financial services and/or crypto exchange licenses
• Experience on cross-jurisdictional matters and working in global legal teams
• Strong communication and leadership skills with excellent judgment
• Ability to contribute as both an individual and a team member, with limited reliance on external counsel
• Ability to effectively advise and build trust with business teams
• Ability to navigate a rapidly-changing legal landscape and deal with legal ambiguity
• Comfort working independently in a fast-paced, growth-stage, and multi-cultural environment
• Ability to work in a high-functioning legal team and collaborative working environment
