Partner 20, Social Media Lead, Frontier

As Social Media Lead for a16z Frontier, you will grow the venture fund's social channels and engage key communities across different domains. You'll work closely with the Frontier marketing team to adapt and distribute existing content into social media posts, and create native social content including clips and campaigns. You'll advise the broader Frontier team and portfolio companies on social media strategy and profile building.

What you'll do

• Grow a16z Frontier's social channels by adapting and distributing existing content pieces into compelling social media posts
• Create content native to social media, including clips, campaigns, and other formats across pod appearances, media interviews, investment announcements, events, and industry conferences
• Manage and oversee the short-form clips operation, identifying, adapting, editing, and timing clips to be compelling and well-received on social platforms
• Serve as the online brand voice for a16z Frontier, regularly engaging with relevant social media communities and different audiences across domains
• Develop and execute social media strategy, including hypotheses around content packages, testing approaches, evaluating performance, and building learnings into content programs
• Advise the broader Frontier team (from investing to operations) and portfolio companies on social media strategy and profile building

What you bring

• Direct, hands-on experience owning social media for a high-visibility or high-growth brand, with embedded experience in a content operation especially welcome
• Proven ability to adapt style and voice across different formats, platforms, and audiences, striking the right tone (not corporate, not cringe, not overly whimsical, not staid)
• Experience with X and LinkedIn required; experience with crypto-native or alt social media tools and video is optional but valuable
• Strong command of data, including experience implementing and using analytics tools, and regularly interpreting and reporting insights
• Excellent communication skills through text, multimedia, design, or memes
• Ability to both strategize and execute hands-on, comfortable taking ideas from conception to operationalization through processes, pipelines, and content calendars
• Ability to collaborate well cross-functionally and meet multi-threaded deadlines
• Deep knowledge of internet culture and latest online conversations, with ability to monitor sentiment and track industry trends
• Passion for technology, open source, and emerging domains
• Low ego, high empathy, and capacity to collaborate effectively with diverse teams

What we offer

• Salary range of $199,000 to $232,000, depending on experience, skills, and scope
