Quant Developer / Quantitative Software Engineer - DeFi WealthTech Startup

As a Quant Developer at this DeFi WealthTech startup, you'll be the only quant on a team of 4 engineers, building retail-focused quantitative strategies at the intersection of decentralized finance and modern wealth technology. You'll work directly with the CEO, who brings high-frequency trading expertise, and contribute across the full crypto and DeFi stack.

What you'll do

• Build retail-focused quantitative strategies using cutting-edge DeFi technology
• Work as the sole quant engineer on the team, owning strategy development and implementation
• Work directly with the CEO on strategy direction and execution
• Contribute across the entire crypto and DeFi stack in a product-focused role

What you bring

• Strong proficiency in Python and TypeScript with solid systems fundamentals
• Proven experience building on-chain and blockchain strategies such as basis trades, funding rate arbitrage, lending/borrowing/looping, and similar strategies
• Track record managing capital risk and building systems to observe and control risk during volatile markets
• Deep on-chain knowledge with a thorough technical and economic understanding of how swaps, lending protocols, AMMs, and perpetuals work
• Ability to learn unfamiliar domains quickly

Nice to have

• Production experience building systems with Cloudflare Workers, Workflows, Durable Objects, Queues, R2, D1, KV, Pipelines, service bindings, and scheduled triggers, with comfort designing stateful, event-driven, edge-native systems and managing infrastructure through Wrangler and Alchemy
• Familiarity with Viem and Wagmi, ZeroDev Kernel smart accounts, session-key permissions, SIWE and Privy authentication, and bundler and paymaster infrastructure. EVM experience is expected; Solana/SVM and cross-chain execution experience is a strong plus
• Experience with Hono, tRPC, Zod, durable workflows, event-driven architecture, and real-time systems, with the ability to design idempotent, replay-safe execution paths across distributed Cloudflare services
• Comfort with agent-native engineering, using coding agents such as Codex or Claude Code for codebase research, implementation, testing, and review, while maintaining ownership of architecture, security, and correctness
• Strong emphasis on type-safe boundaries, domain-driven architecture, and correctness in financial systems
