R&D Team Leader - Go & Blockchain

As an R&D Team Leader at Plaee, you'll lead the DPM team and help build the next generation of decentralized prediction market infrastructure. You'll lead a team of talented backend and blockchain engineers while remaining deeply involved in designing and developing the backend systems powering decentralized prediction markets, blockchain integrations, execution services, and real-time market infrastructure. Working closely with the CTO, you'll define the technical direction of the platform, drive engineering excellence, mentor developers, and ensure successful delivery of scalable, production-grade distributed systems. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll spend a significant portion of your time designing, building, and reviewing production code.

What you'll do

• Lead and mentor a team of backend and blockchain engineers
• Own the team's technical execution, delivery, and engineering quality
• Design and build high-performance backend services using Go (Golang)
• Develop core services powering decentralized prediction markets
• Build integrations with blockchain protocols, smart contracts, and decentralized applications
• Integrate with blockchain networks, external services, and real-time market data feeds
• Design scalable event-driven microservices using NATS
• Implement reliable workflow orchestration using Temporal
• Build resilient services for blockchain transaction processing, market connectivity, and backend infrastructure
• Drive architecture discussions and make pragmatic technical decisions
• Perform code reviews and promote engineering best practices
• Coach engineers through design, implementation, debugging, and production incidents
• Collaborate closely with Product and the CTO to define priorities and technical roadmaps
• Design and optimize distributed systems for scalability, reliability, and low latency
• Improve observability, testing, CI/CD, and operational excellence

What you bring

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
• 5+ years of professional Go (Golang) development
• 2+ years of technical leadership or team leadership experience
• 3+ years of blockchain or Web3 development
• Strong experience designing and building distributed backend systems and blockchain applications on EVM-compatible networks, including smart contract integration and production-grade transaction processing
• Deep understanding of blockchain architecture and transaction lifecycles, including transaction signing, gas optimization, nonce management, confirmations, and chain reorganizations
• Experience leading technical design discussions and delivering complex software projects
• Comfort using modern AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or similar as part of your daily software development workflow
• Experience with PostgreSQL
• Experience with Temporal or similar workflow orchestration platforms
• Experience with NATS, Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar messaging technologies
• Experience with Kubernetes and modern CI/CD pipelines
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and production support skills
• Excellent communication, mentoring, and collaboration skills

• Experience with prediction markets
• Experience with Central Limit Order Books (CLOB)
• Experience with Conditional Token Frameworks (CTF)
• Experience with wallet infrastructure or MPC wallets
• Familiarity with Terraform and cloud infrastructure
• Experience growing and mentoring engineering teams in fast-paced startup environments
