Regulatory Affairs & licensing Expert (Thailand Lead)

As a Regulatory Affairs and Licensing Expert leading Thailand operations for Tether, you will develop and execute regulatory strategies for the region, translate Thai regulatory requirements into actionable recommendations, and manage relationships between internal teams and external regulatory authorities. You report to the Regional Lead for Asia Pacific within the Regulatory and Licensing department.

What you'll do

• Develop and execute regulatory strategies, identifying preferable markets in the region from which to operate
• Participate in regulatory agency interactions and engage with relevant regulatory authorities, industry bodies, and policymakers to shape the regulatory landscape for stablecoin issuers
• Analyse local regulatory proposals and advise the business on potential regulatory risks and opportunities
• Drive initiatives to influence regulatory frameworks and monitor regulatory changes to ensure proactive compliance
• Contribute to the process of obtaining necessary license approvals in identified markets
• Collaborate with internal teams including legal, compliance, and finance to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and address emerging regulatory challenges

What you bring

• Deep understanding of legal and regulatory requirements pertaining to the crypto-asset industry in Thailand
• Existing regulatory experience applicable to the fintech and blockchain space
• Excellent English communication skills
• Ability to self-develop and enhance skill sets, including understanding blockchain technology and crypto-assets
