Research Engineer Intern (Multimodal LLM)

Join Tether as a Research Engineer Intern focused on multimodal LLM development. You'll contribute to state-of-the-art foundation models and help optimize our distributed model training framework. This MSc/PhD internship blends hands-on research, learning, and collaboration with industry experts across Tether's AI and emerging technology initiatives.

What you'll do

• Research and develop state-of-the-art LLM, video, and multimodal models to accelerate open-source progress in these domains
• Implement applications of large models in business scenarios, including pre-training, supervised fine-tuning, post-training, and inference
• Continuously optimize the distributed training framework to better adapt to training large models across thousands of multi-node GPUs
• Advance the development of open-source LLM, vision, and multimodal foundation models while collaborating with broader teams across Tether

What you bring

• MSc or PhD candidate status in computer science or a related technical discipline
• Research experience in at least one of these areas: LLM, computer vision, or multimodality
• Proficiency with PyTorch deep learning framework and libraries
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, logical thinking, communication, and collaboration skills

Nice to have

• Publications in top AI conferences such as ACL, NIPS, ICML, ICLR, CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, TPAMI, or IJCV
