As a Senior Rust Engineer at Keyrock, you take ownership of high-impact trading infrastructure within the Capital Markets division, setting technical direction and driving continuous improvement in system performance, reliability, and operability. You join a highly-profitable team within a leading market maker trading on more than 80 exchanges, where you will make a senior individual-contributor impact while collaborating with a global, fully-remote team across European time zones.

What you'll do

  • Design, develop, and optimise low-latency, mission-critical trading systems
  • Own key trading stack components end-to-end from architecture through to production operation
  • Collaborate closely with quants, traders, and engineers to deliver solutions that improve trading performance and resilience
  • Maintain and evolve trading infrastructure with a focus on performance, stability, observability, and operational excellence
  • Troubleshoot complex production issues across exchange connectivity, execution, and market data handling
  • Drive engineering standards through technical leadership, code reviews, and mentoring
  • Leverage AI-assisted workflows and drive automation of operational tasks to evolve the team's agentic tooling
  • Contribute to functional, component, and production-readiness testing for critical trading components

What you bring

  • Production-grade Rust experience building high-performance, concurrent systems; proficiency with Tokio is a strong advantage
  • Hands-on experience in a systematic trading environment (HFT, Market Making, Quantitative Trading, or similar), with solid understanding of execution, market data, and operational risk
  • Strong AWS and Linux expertise, including cloud infrastructure trade-offs for latency-sensitive workloads, shell scripting, debugging, and production troubleshooting
  • Proficiency in Python or other scripting languages for strategy development, automation, and operational tooling
  • Deep familiarity with trading system protocols (FIX, REST, WebSocket), exchange connectivity, and market data feeds
  • Solid grasp of low-latency networking: TCP/UDP, packet and latency path analysis, dedicated network infrastructure, and kernel bypass techniques (DPDK)
  • Familiarity with agentic engineering tools and concepts: LLMs, MCP APIs, AI-First IDEs (e.g. Cursor, Claude Code), harness engineering, and workflow automation
  • Ability to make sound architectural decisions, articulate trade-offs clearly, and guide implementation across complex systems
  • Ownership mindset: take full responsibility for your work, deliver high-quality service, meet deadlines, and proactively address potential issues
  • Initiative and problem-solving approach: drive solutions independently and think entrepreneurially about technical challenges
  • Technical leadership capability to influence system design, raise engineering standards, and mentor other engineers
  • Curiosity and continuous desire to improve your technical skills and stay ahead of industry trends
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate within a fully remote global team

What we offer

  • A competitive salary package
  • Autonomy in your time management thanks to flexible working hours and remote work opportunity
  • The opportunity to be part of a team in search of excellence and create your own entrepreneurial experience
