As a Senior Rust Engineer at Keyrock, you will take ownership of high-impact trading infrastructure within our Capital Markets division. You will set technical direction in your domain and drive continuous improvement in system performance, reliability, and operability. Joining a highly-profitable division within a leading digital asset market maker, you will make a senior individual-contributor impact while collaborating with a global, fully-remote team. This role is open to candidates located in European time zones.

What you'll do

  • Design, develop, and optimise low-latency, mission-critical trading systems
  • Own key trading stack components end-to-end, from architecture through to production operation
  • Collaborate closely with quants, traders, and engineers to deliver solutions that improve trading performance and resilience
  • Maintain and evolve trading infrastructure with a focus on performance, stability, observability, and operational excellence
  • Troubleshoot complex production issues across exchange connectivity, execution, and market data handling
  • Drive engineering standards through technical leadership, code reviews, and mentoring
  • Leverage AI-assisted workflows and drive automation of operational tasks to evolve the team's agentic tooling
  • Contribute to functional, component, and production-readiness testing for critical trading components

What you bring

  • Production-grade Rust experience building high-performance, concurrent systems
  • Hands-on experience in a systematic trading environment such as HFT, Market Making, or Quantitative Trading, with solid understanding of execution, market data, and operational risk
  • Strong AWS and Linux expertise, including cloud infrastructure trade-offs for latency-sensitive workloads, shell scripting, debugging, and production troubleshooting
  • Proficiency in Python or other scripting languages for strategy development, automation, and operational tooling
  • Deep familiarity with trading system protocols such as FIX, REST, and WebSocket, including exchange connectivity and market data feeds
  • Solid grasp of low-latency networking: TCP/UDP, packet and latency path analysis, dedicated network infrastructure, and kernel bypass techniques such as DPDK
  • Ability to make sound architectural decisions, articulate trade-offs clearly, and guide implementation across complex systems
  • Ownership and reliability in delivering high-quality service, meeting deadlines, and anticipating potential issues before they arise
  • An entrepreneurial problem-solving mindset with the ability to make independent judgments and drive solutions
  • Technical leadership skills to influence system design, raise engineering standards, and mentor other engineers
  • Curiosity and a growth mindset, continuously seeking to improve your technical skills and stay ahead of industry trends
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to working within a fully remote global team

Nice to have

  • Proficiency with Tokio
  • Familiarity with agentic engineering tools and concepts, including LLMs, MCP APIs, AI-First IDEs such as Cursor or Claude Code, harness engineering, and workflow automation

What we offer

  • A competitive salary package
  • Flexible working hours and the opportunity to work remotely
  • Autonomy in your time management
