Senior Software Engineer

As a Senior Software Engineer at Coinflow, you'll design and implement the core infrastructure powering global payments. You'll work across the payment orchestration layer, merchant APIs, and real-time settlement engine, processing billions of dollars in transactions with code that ships to production quickly and handles real money from day one.

What you'll do

• Design and implement payment processing systems that handle high throughput and strict reliability requirements
• Build APIs and SDKs that merchants use to integrate Coinflow into their platforms
• Develop fraud detection and risk management features using real-time data analysis
• Architect systems for performance, reliability, and observability at scale
• Optimize database queries, caching strategies, and service communication patterns
• Instrument services for monitoring, alerting, and debugging production issues
• Work end-to-end on features from technical design through deployment and iteration
• Collaborate with Product and Design to translate requirements into elegant technical solutions
• Balance speed of delivery with code quality and long-term maintainability
• Contribute to technical decisions around architecture, tooling, and best practices
• Mentor other engineers through code review, pairing, and knowledge sharing
• Help shape engineering culture as the team grows

What you bring

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js
• Deep understanding of REST API design, relational and document databases (especially MongoDB), and distributed systems concepts
• Experience building systems that handle high transaction volumes or strict correctness requirements
• Comfort with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or similar) and containerized deployments
• A track record of shipping and maintaining production systems
• Clear communication skills to discuss technical tradeoffs with engineers and non-engineers alike

Nice to have

• Experience with React
• Experience in payments, fintech, or blockchain/crypto

What we offer

• Base salary of $140,000 to $190,000 USD, depending on experience, education, skills, and qualifications
