Solana Program Engineer

The Solana Foundation is seeking talented Solana Program Engineers to join high-impact teams across the ecosystem. This is an open application to express your interest in working on projects that range from advanced DeFi protocols and core infrastructure to on-chain applications. Depending on your background and interests, you may be matched with teams building cutting-edge solutions in DeFi, developer tooling, smart contract frameworks, and new user experiences on Solana.

What you'll do

• Build high-performance, production-grade Solana programs in Rust using Anchor or Native
• Take ideas from 0→1 and iterate quickly with real users and ecosystem teams
• Reason about technical trade-offs and system design under constraints
• Contribute to open source and improve developer tools for the Solana ecosystem
• Work with leading teams building DeFi protocols, core infrastructure, and on-chain applications

What you bring

• 2+ years of experience building and shipping Solana programs
• Strong familiarity with Solana's runtime (SVM), SPL tokens, PDAs, and Anchor
• Hands-on experience building or contributing to DeFi protocols
• Understanding of state compression, account metering, and program optimization
• Passion for DeFi and familiarity with on-chain mechanics

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Solana-native DeFi protocols such as OpenBook, Jupiter, MarginFi, Orca, or Meteora
• Experience working in startup-like, fast-paced environments
