Senior Software Engineer, Custody Services

As a Senior Software Engineer on Robinhood's Custody Services team, you'll build the infrastructure behind crypto processing, wallet and key management workflows, and integrations with third-party custodians. The team is responsible for safeguarding billions in assets under custody for millions of customers across crypto infrastructure, digital asset custody providers, and products like staking, lending, and travel rule compliance. Most of what you'll build sits at the boundary between infrastructure and security.

What you'll do

• Build and run the AWS infrastructure behind custody, key management, and blockchain node operations.
• Automate infrastructure and configuration management using tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or similar to reduce manual operations.
• Run and maintain blockchain nodes across the networks you support, keeping them healthy and available.
• Write and maintain services in Python for infrastructure management and wallet operations.
• Own the integrations with third-party custodians.
• Build out Kubernetes and Docker deployments as the custody stack is containerized.
• Set up monitoring and alerting using Prometheus, Grafana, or equivalent tools so problems are detected before customers are affected.
• Apply security controls and standards throughout, including access control, key management, and incident response.
• Provide on-call support, responding to and resolving production issues to keep custody systems reliable and available.

What you bring

• Senior-level experience running cloud infrastructure on AWS in production.
• Experience managing blockchain nodes in production.
• Hands-on experience with Ansible, Terraform, or similar configuration management and Infrastructure as Code tooling.
• Experience running containerized workloads on Kubernetes and Docker.
• Solid Python and/or Go skills with real production experience.
• A strong security focus, with demonstrated experience on systems where key management and access control are critical.
• Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, or an equivalent monitoring stack.

Nice to have

• Experience integrating with third-party custodians such as BitGo or Fireblocks.

This role is based in the London, UK office with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week. You will participate in an on-call rotation to support business needs.
