Senior Software Engineer, Low Latency

As a Senior Software Engineer, Low Latency at DRW, you develop new and improve existing low latency trade execution systems for the Asia Equity Options business. You join the desk as an integral member bridging research and trading teams, working with cutting-edge low latency technologies alongside senior technologists.

What you'll do

• Develop high-availability systems in C++ and Python with very tight resource and latency constraints
• Interface with ultra low latency FPGA trading systems
• Work on highly distributed systems
• Analyse and discuss requirements from stakeholders
• Facilitate discussions on code implementation, testing, and software architecture best practices
• Drive projects and lead new initiatives
• Actively engage with the development team to resolve challenging design and coding issues
• Evaluate appropriate new technologies, tools, frameworks and software components for integration

What you bring

• A strong understanding of C++, boost, and STL
• A minimum of 4 years of experience in the trading industry
• Prior experience working on options or derivative products
• A background in multi-threaded programming and a strong understanding of hardware/software interaction
• Comfort working "under the hood" with skills in performance tuning (applications, Linux, socket I/O, etc.) and troubleshooting
• Experience working with Research teams and Quants
• A strong understanding of software engineering principles and best practices

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Python
