Senior Staff Technical Program Manager, Information Security
Ripple • San Francisco, CA, United StatesAs a Senior Staff Technical Program Manager for Information Security at Ripple, you will lead the company's Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) migration program. This is a challenging, technical role requiring you to synthesize business and technical requirements and ensure Ripple solves for its current and future security needs ahead of Q-Day. You will work across InfoSec, XRPL Core, Payments, Custody, Stablecoin, Platform, Compliance, and Legal to drive a company-wide cryptographic migration across asymmetric ciphers, symmetric ciphers, hashing functions, and digital signatures. You will partner with InfoSec on high-level strategy while remaining hands-on to push initiatives forward.
What you'll do
- Drive end-to-end execution of Ripple's PQC program, from cryptographic asset inventory through risk prioritization, tradeoff analysis, and migration execution, against a Q-Day-readiness target of end of 2028
- Stand up and own a cross-organizational PQC working group with named owners across XRPL Core, Payments, Custody, Stablecoin, Platform, and InfoSec
- Drive alignment with vendors and partners (custody partners, exchanges, payment processors, HSM vendors) on compatible PQC roadmaps, escalating gaps
- Reduce ambiguity and risk by proactively identifying and eliminating bottlenecks and obstacles, raising issues strategically, and making sound data-driven decisions based on tradeoffs
- Communicate program status, risk, and progress to engineering leadership and executive sponsors, including maintaining the program dashboard reviewed monthly by executives
- Be a role model and inspiring leader for other Technical Program Managers
- Create technical frameworks that engineering teams can use for decision-making
- Influence and improve the efficiency of Operational Excellence processes organization-wide
- Partner with program managers, product managers, and engineering managers to understand development priorities and drive alignment across multiple partners
- Coordinate testing and release dependencies for assigned engineering teams and across teams as products converge for release
- Build migration-progress, risk-register, and readiness dashboards to advise partners and leadership of progress and gaps
What you bring
- 10+ years of program management experience on initiatives involving sophisticated enterprise tech environments, working directly with teams across multiple functions
- Solid understanding of cryptographic fundamentals (asymmetric and symmetric ciphers, hashing, digital signatures) sufficient to synthesize technical tradeoffs with engineering and InfoSec stakeholders
- Ability to use data and analytics to assess project and system health and identify trends
- Ability to coordinate cross-functionally, build consensus, and execute across teams; ability to influence without authority, negotiate, and encourage others in a matrixed environment
- Experience with Jira and Confluence, and proficiency in Google Sheets
- Experience crafting or architecting new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling
Nice to have
- Prior exposure to Post-Quantum Cryptography, cryptographic migrations, or security and compliance-driven technical programs
- Experience in Payments, Custody, Stablecoin, and/or Blockchain ecosystems
