Software Development Engineer in Test

As a Software Development Engineer in Test at TechTiera, you join a specialized QA team rebuilding test practices around agentic AI. You work at a regulated digital asset exchange, broker, and custodian serving institutional and professional investors, where your role combines critical human judgment with AI-assisted workflows. Test planning, code generation, failure triage, and code review happen in partnership with AI coding agents, with you acting as the essential human-in-the-loop to verify outputs before they ship.

What you'll do

• Direct AI agentic tools daily to plan tests, generate code, triage failures, and review pull requests, critically verifying everything the machine produces before shipping
• Author and maintain automated UI and API tests using Playwright and TypeScript covering trading, custody, and customer-portal surfaces
• Triage nightly regression and smoke runs, separating genuine product bugs from environment noise and test-side defects, and file clear, well-evidenced bug reports
• Keep test suites honest by linking failing tests to known bugs, preventing silent skips, and maintaining green, fast, and trustworthy CI pipelines in GitHub Actions
• Cross the test boundary to fix what you find; work in the same monorepo as the product to ship small bug fixes and application improvements through standard developer pull request reviews

What you bring

• 3 to 6 years of hands-on experience in software testing, QA automation, or software development
• Working knowledge of JavaScript and TypeScript, alongside a solid grasp of web applications and HTTP APIs (requests and responses, status codes, JSON, authentication)
• Genuine interest in AI-assisted engineering, comfort making AI tools do real work, and healthy skepticism to verify outputs
• Excellent written English, essential for prompt engineering, bug reports, and review comments
• High attention to detail and commitment to honest reporting

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium
• Experience building shared test frameworks
• Exposure to financial services, trading, capital markets, WebSockets, SQL and PostgreSQL, or digital assets and blockchain

What we offer

• Monthly salary of PHP 80,000 to PHP 120,000, negotiable based on experience
• Remote-first work with a Metro Manila hybrid option
