Software Engineer Intern, Trading

As a Software Engineer Intern in the Trading team at Talos, you will work on a critical project related to high-performance trading systems. You'll contribute to tools that support trading decision-making and performance evaluation, designing and building components that enhance algorithmic capabilities while adding new features to the Order Management System.

What you'll do

• Collaborate with the Trading team to define project scope, requirements, and milestones
• Prepare design documentation and actively participate in architectural discussions with team members
• Build features in Go to enhance Talos's Order Management System (OMS), which is responsible for making all trading-related decisions for orders submitted into Talos to ensure best execution
• Add analytics and metrics to measure the impact of your changes while incorporating feedback and iterating based on team input
• Demonstrate project progress through regular demos

What you bring

• Class of 2028 pursuing a degree in Computer Science or related field
• Proficiency in at least one compiled language, such as Go, C++, or Java
• At least one previous internship involving backend systems in a production environment, preferably in a user-facing context
• Knowledge of relational databases such as Postgres
• Detail-oriented, self-driven, and analytical mindset with enthusiasm for impactful projects
• Strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly
• Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a collaborative team environment

• Past experience with trading systems
