Staff Software Engineer (Crypto, SV) - US - IC7 - 2026

As a Staff Software Engineer at Nu, you will set technical direction for the backend and platform foundations that connect the company's products to blockchain networks. Your scope spans shared capabilities used by multiple product teams, including onchain data, transaction construction and execution, signing and custody integrations, asset movement between wallets and entities, smart contract integrations, and the infrastructure required to operate these systems securely at global scale. You own critical architecture, lead multi-quarter technical decisions, and establish standards for security, reliability, data integrity, and operational readiness across team boundaries.

What you'll do

• Set technical direction for onchain data, transaction construction and execution, signing and custody integrations, and asset movement between wallets and entities
• Own and lead architecture decisions for shared capabilities used across multiple product teams
• Lead multi-quarter technical initiatives and establish standards for security, reliability, data integrity, and operational readiness
• Partner closely with product, security, compliance, and engineering teams to align technical strategy
• Lead response to major technical risks and production incidents
• Mentor senior engineers across the crypto engineering area

What you bring

• Distributed systems depth and production ownership experience
• Meaningful experience in one or more relevant crypto domains such as onchain data, transaction construction, custody systems, or smart contract integrations
