Staff Software Engineer, Frontend/Mobile (Consumer - Agentic Trading)

As a Staff Software Engineer on Coinbase's Consumer Agentic Finance team, you'll be the frontend technical lead building the most trusted financial agent on the most trusted financial exchange. You'll own every interface that brings users to an agent that watches their money and markets, answers questions about their portfolio, and trades on their behalf.

What you'll do

• Own frontend experiences for the user's agent end to end across mobile and web, including the conversational interface, the trading ideas experience and the entry points that bring users to their agent from across the app
• Build real-time, streaming interfaces for AI-driven advice, one-tap trade approvals and autonomous execution that keeps the agent's reasoning legible
• Set frontend architecture and technical direction across agentic surfaces (streaming state, real-time market data and conversational UX), and raise the bar through design reviews, standards and mentorship
• Shape agent behavior directly through prompt engineering, evals and conversation analysis
• Partner with design, backend engineering and the registered investment adviser to take features from concept to launch inside regulatory guardrails

What you bring

• 8+ years of professional engineering experience shipping consumer-facing products at scale
• Expert-level mobile experience in React Native and native iOS (Swift) or Android (Kotlin) development, and proficiency in TypeScript and React
• Demonstrated technical leadership of frontend architecture across multiple product areas or a platform, including state management, API integration patterns and performance work that measurably improved latency or reliability, while guiding other engineers through it
• Experience building with LLMs in production: agentic systems, tool calling, streaming responses or conversational interfaces
• A proven track record driving projects from zero to production with minimal oversight, owning both product and technical decisions
• Obsession with improving your productivity and code quality leveraging the latest AI-driven coding best practices

Nice to have

• Experience across both iOS and Android platforms
• Backend experience with Go
• Familiarity with crypto, trading or financial products
