Technical lead (Blockchain Platform)

GEM is hiring a Technical Lead for Blockchain Platform to lead technical architecture and development of backend services and blockchain integrations. You'll be hands-on with implementation, code reviews, and technical decision-making, guiding your engineering team while working across EVM and Solana integrations on Azure cloud infrastructure. This role is based in Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City.

What you'll do

• Lead the technical design and development of backend services and APIs
• Design and review microservices and blockchain integrations for EVM-compatible networks and Solana
• Guide the engineering team on architecture, coding standards, and best practices
• Work with DevOps to deploy and operate applications on Azure Kubernetes Service
• Ensure system scalability, performance, security, and reliability
• Review code, mentor engineers, and support technical problem-solving
• Collaborate with Product, QA, and DevOps to deliver features on time
• Improve CI/CD, monitoring, and engineering processes

What you bring

• 7+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 2 years in a technical leadership or team lead role
• Strong hands-on experience with JavaScript/TypeScript backend development
• Proven experience designing and developing microservices and cloud-native applications
• Solid knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, and Infrastructure as Code
• Hands-on experience integrating with blockchain platforms, including EVM-compatible networks and/or Solana
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, distributed systems, scalability, and high-performance architectures
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, application security, and production operations
• Strong technical communication, problem-solving, and mentoring skills
• Good English communication skills, both written and spoken

Nice to have

• Experience with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code
• Knowledge of Azure services such as Function Apps and Container Apps
• Understanding of security best practices and performance optimization techniques
