Assistant Controller

As an Assistant Controller at StarkWare, you will play a key role in our day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, and monthly close processes. Reporting to the Controller, you will gain hands-on experience in the financial and accounting aspects of digital assets and blockchain technology, while working with a team that values strong accounting fundamentals combined with a passion for technology, AI, and automation.

What you'll do

• Play a key role in the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, including reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting under US GAAP
• Ensure accurate bookkeeping, account reconciliations, and financial records across the organization
• Monitor and reconcile digital asset holdings and transactions across wallets, exchanges, and custody platforms, ensuring accurate accounting records and appropriate accounting and tax treatment
• Drive the adoption of AI and automation tools across finance, streamlining workpapers, recurring tasks, and financial processes
• Support the development and improvement of financial policies, procedures, and internal controls, with a focus on efficiency and automation
• Work closely with external auditors, accountants, and tax advisors on audits, accounting matters, and tax compliance

What you bring

• CPA qualification with Big 4 experience
• Up to 3 years of post-internship experience
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and US GAAP
• Strong technological orientation, curiosity about AI and automation, and a drive to improve existing processes
• Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and strong Excel proficiency
• Fluent English
• Proactive, independent, and hands-on approach with a strong sense of ownership and ability to manage multiple priorities

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with AI or finance automation tools
• Experience with Priority ERP
• Graduated with honors or worked in a Big 4 firm's Professional Practice Department
• Familiarity with cryptocurrencies, digital assets, and blockchain technology
