Associate, SDET (Software Development Engineer In Test)

As an Associate SDET at Galaxy Digital, you'll embed within a product team to raise the bar for quality engineering across institutional-grade platforms that move real crypto and fiat value. You'll design automation strategies, influence architecture for testability, and drive reliability across APIs, backend services, web and mobile UI, and blockchain-integrated components. Your work will have outsized impact on small, high-performing teams.

What you'll do

• Design, build, and maintain test automation frameworks and suites for APIs, backend services, web and mobile UI (Android/iOS), and blockchain-integrated components
• Define and drive the quality strategy for your product team, including test planning, coverage analysis, risk assessment, and release readiness
• Partner closely with developers, DevOps, and product managers to shift quality left and influence system design for testability
• Analyze test results, production incidents, and system behavior to identify patterns and drive systemic improvements
• Build and maintain CI/CD-integrated test pipelines that give teams fast, reliable feedback
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate test creation, code analysis, and automation workflows
• Contribute to performance testing, security validation, and observability practices
• Mentor other engineers on testing practices, code quality, and automation design

What you bring

• 5+ years of experience in quality engineering or software development in test, with meaningful ownership of automation strategy and execution
• Strong programming skills in Python (primary) or similar languages such as JavaScript, Java, or Go
• Proven experience designing and maintaining automation frameworks such as Pytest, Robot Framework, Selenium, Playwright, or Postman/Newman
• Deep understanding of API testing, microservices architectures, and distributed systems
• Experience with Git, GitHub workflows, CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, CircleCI), and issue tracking (JIRA)
• Strong debugging and analytical skills with comfort working with logs, metrics, and traces using tools like Datadog, Grafana, or Prometheus
• Experience working in Agile environments with close collaboration across engineering and product
• Clear, proactive communication where you surface risks, share context, and keep people aligned
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as LLM-based coding assistants to accelerate engineering work, with an eagerness to push those practices further

Nice to have

• Experience in financial services, fintech, or digital assets and crypto
• Familiarity with blockchain APIs, wallets, smart contracts, or on-chain data
• Experience with Web3 testing tools such as Hardhat, Brownie, or Foundry
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Knowledge of contract testing (Pact), test data management, or service virtualization
• Performance or security testing experience using tools like Locust, k6, or OWASP
• Track record of mentoring engineers and raising team capabilities
• Experience building, testing, or working with AI agents and agentic workflows
