Crypto Researcher

As a Crypto Researcher at Crypto Banter, you sit at the heart of daily content, owning the research that shapes what the team says on air and the trade ideas shared with the community. This is a commercially accountable role where your work directly influences the quality, credibility and tradability of everything published. You will spot narratives before they break, pressure-test ideas with data, and turn raw market noise into clear, actionable insight.

This is a remote-first role based anywhere in the world, aligned to South African Standard Time (SAST). Given the 24/7 nature of crypto markets, you will research outside traditional hours to stay ahead of developments.

What you'll do

• Track the markets around the clock, staying informed on global events that could impact markets with a particular focus on cryptocurrency trends, macroeconomic shifts, and how they influence market movements
• Research with rigour by critically assessing new trends, emerging narratives and trade ideas using a logical, data-driven approach, and developing a deep understanding of current market conditions including ongoing trades, popular narratives and key news stories
• Read market sentiment by staying on top of latest industry launches and evolving trends, conducting sentiment analysis across various platforms to understand overall market sentiment and offering insights on their usability and potential
• Shape the daily shows by identifying the key question or topic of the day that the community is focused on, curating and designing the daily script, documentation and narrative for each show, and being active and prepared for research-centric calls
• Deliver actionable insight by seeking out tradable information the community can use to make informed decisions, contributing research, trade setups and commentary directly to Discord threads, and implementing business suggestions as the role develops

What you bring

• 3+ years of experience in a crypto research-focused role with deep, hands-on understanding of cryptocurrency markets, narratives and culture
• A logical, data-driven approach to assessing trends, narratives and trade ideas, with the discipline to separate signal from noise
• Comfort connecting macroeconomic developments to crypto market movements and explaining why they matter
• Experience analysing sentiment across social platforms and communities to gauge where the market's attention sits
• Ability to turn complex research into clear, concise scripts, documentation and narratives suited to a live audience
• Comfort thriving in a fast-moving, 24/7 environment and flexibility to adjust your hours around the market
• Genuine curiosity and active engagement with the crypto community and wider conversation
• Self-starting and proactive approach, comfortable owning your own research agenda
• Ability to stay calm under pressure and thrive in a fast-paced environment
