Dark Web/Crypto Currency Analyst

As a Dark Web/Crypto Currency Analyst at KACE Company, you support the Analytics Group within National Headquarters and conduct open-source analysis to identify and develop intelligence on targets operating on the clear and dark webs for all Inspection Service investigations. You provide actionable intelligence through cryptocurrency tracking and analysis, open source and dark web intelligence, social media analysis, geospatial mapping, data visualization, and USPS backend and network data exploitation.

What you'll do

• Conduct open or all-source intelligence gathering and analysis
• Use cyber intelligence tools and software to actively search and mine the publicly available Internet and the dark net/deep web
• Search, analyze and prioritize various marketplaces and cyber-criminals to identify high-value targets and analyze and trace cryptocurrency
• Evaluate Internet information from social media, chats, forums, dark net, TOR network, news feeds, internet relay chats, cryptocurrency and blockchain data, and other openly available sources
• Perform prioritized assessment of data to identify the most critical and reliable information in order to identify cryptocurrency usage, locations, accounts, services, travels, email addresses, IP addresses and pattern of life data to determine physical attribution of an Internet identity
• Conduct blockchain analysis, trace the flow of funds, and complete comprehensive reports and charts with findings
• Analyze cryptocurrency exchange subpoena returns and provide comprehensive analysis on the contents in the context of inspector investigations
• Respond to Requests for Assistance/Information for USPIS investigations
• Provide subject matter expertise in cryptocurrency and blockchain technology and provide training and guidance to inspectors and other analysts
• Prepare intelligence and investigative reports documenting steps taken, data sources reviewed, and conclusions drawn from evaluation of Internet information
• Conduct analyses and research and report results using tabular, pictorial or graphical techniques
• Provide summary and detailed results to various levels of the organization in formats that are easy to understand, showing conclusions and relationships
• Work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple projects and tasks with competing priorities and meeting deliverables

What you bring

• A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred
• Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience supporting cryptocurrency investigations
• Advanced understanding of the methods used by cyber-criminals to hide themselves on the Internet, how they conduct online business, and the various marketplaces and forums they operate within
• Demonstrated experience with cyber intelligence tools and software for dark web and deep web searching
• Demonstrated experience with visual tools such as Qlik, Microstrategy, Tableau, and/or i2 Analyst Notebook
• U.S. Citizenship or Legal Permanent Residency
• Ability to pass a background investigation including drug screening
• Residency requirement of 3 consecutive years in the last 5 years
• Favorable credit check
