Deputy General Counsel, Strategic Partnerships & Institutions

As Deputy General Counsel, Strategic Partnerships and Institutions at OKX, you serve as a senior legal advisor for one of OKX's most strategically important business lines: the strategic partnership ecosystem. You work with the Global Legal team to support OKX's global institutional and trading businesses, as well as the Peer-to-Peer (P2P) platform. This is not a gatekeeping role. You are a commercially-minded lawyer who shapes strategy, takes ownership, and thrives in a fast-moving environment where legal frameworks are still taking shape alongside the industry itself.

What you'll do

• Serve as an attorney on all strategic partnerships and trading arrangements, including strategic alliances, partnership agreements, cooperation agreements, incentive agreements, exchange integrations, staking, co-investments, and alliances
• Draft, negotiate, and manage high-stakes commercial agreements, joint ventures, and technology alliances to help scale business growth safely
• Advise on complex cross-border transactions, crypto product structuring, and multi-jurisdictional regulatory compliance
• Act as a key legal advisor within the global strategic partnership legal team, focusing on strategic partnerships, trading, and P2P platforms, and ensure compliance and robust legal support across these key business areas
• Translate complex legal and regulatory issues into clear, commercially actionable guidance for product, engineering, and executive teams
• Collaborate closely with product development and business development teams to ensure that new products, services, and business initiatives align with regulatory requirements and advance the company's strategic goals
• Address additional matters as advised by legal team leaders, providing flexibility to respond to new challenges and opportunities within the legal landscape

What you bring

• A law degree and eligibility to practice as an advocate
• At least 10+ years of experience working at a law firm, digital assets firm, or a top tier financial institution
• A proven track record at a top-tier law firm or in-house role at a top financial institution, with experience in the digital assets sector
• Meaningful, deal-level exposure to strategic partnerships including cooperation agreements and incentive agreements, with flexibility to work on various commercial and transactional deals
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, multicultural, and growth-oriented environment
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work well under pressure and cope with tight deadlines
• Excellent drafting and communication skills
• Strong ability to build trust and provide effective legal advice to business teams, with capability to navigate rapidly evolving legal landscapes
• Highly collaborative approach as a team member within a high-functioning multicultural legal department
