As a Design Quality Engineer II at Boston Scientific, you join the Neuromodulation division on a defined-term contract of up to 24 months. You serve on high-performing, cross-functional product development teams designing world-class Neuromodulation Systems. You support design activities, risk management, and post-market surveillance processes while collaborating across multiple teams and sites.
What you'll do
- Apply systematic problem-solving methodologies to identify, prioritize, communicate, and resolve quality issues
- Act as an effective team member and mentor in supporting quality disciplines, decisions, and practices
- Work within cross-functional teams to identify and implement effective controls and support integration of design control related products, records, and processes
- Own, create, maintain, and support safety risk management processes, including Hazard Analysis, Risk Management Plan, Risk Management Report, and DFMEA
- Support post-market activities based on risk signals from post-market surveillance
- Consult with product experts, design engineering, post-market quality, and medical safety functions for risk analysis across the lifecycle of Neuromodulation products
- Provide support to Design Quality Engineers on new product development, acquisitions, and sustaining engineering projects as needed
- Perform quality trending using complaint and NCEP/CAPA systems and lead risk analyses for CAPA and audit findings investigations
- Demonstrate best practices and full commitment to achieving the division's objectives as a team member
What you bring
- A Bachelor's degree in mechanical, industrial, electrical, or biomedical engineering, or another related technical discipline
- Minimum two years of professional experience in manufacturing, design, risk management, design assurance, post-market quality, and/or design engineering
- Experience in the medical device industry or similar highly-regulated industry
- Ability and willingness to work in a defined-term role for up to 24 months
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex engineering problems using analysis, experimentation, and statistics
- Strong communication and analytical skills
- Ability to effectively work and collaborate in a mixed onsite and remote environment
- Demonstrated cross-functional teamwork in a technically demanding environment
- Ability to travel up to 10%
Nice to have
- An advanced degree in engineering
- Understanding of ISO 13485, ISO 14971, and Quality System Regulations with a focus on Design Controls and Risk Analysis
- Proven ability to influence without authority
- Quality engineering certification(s) such as ASQ, CQE, or CQA
What we offer
- Salary range of $81,800 to $155,400, commensurate with experience and qualifications

- Hybrid work model requiring presence in local offices at least three days per week
- Possible variable compensation including annual bonus target and long-term incentives depending on role classification and plan eligibility
