Head of EEA Legal, Deputy General Counsel

As Head of EEA Legal and Deputy General Counsel at OKX, you lead the legal function across Europe, Middle East and Africa. You work closely with the EEA CEO and global legal leadership to shape OKX's regulatory and legal strategy in this critical region. You combine hands-on legal management, cross-functional advisory, and strategic leadership in a rapidly evolving crypto and regulatory landscape, and serve as a member of the EU management team.

What you'll do

• Support OKX's business expansion across the EEA, serving as the primary legal point of contact for the OKX EEA entity and supporting licensing and legal efforts to expand into the U.K. market
• Advise on legal matters spanning product development, regulatory compliance, IP and trademark enforcement, corporate governance, licensing, token listings for OKX Europe, contract negotiation, compliance, institutional sales and partnerships, and marketing and advertising
• Analyze and advise on the legal risk of new and existing digital assets, and manage the legal component of the new asset review process
• Lead and manage lawyers covering the EEA to ensure legal efforts are coordinated and achieve successful outcomes
• Collaborate with product and business development teams to deliver company-wide projects and goals
• Manage legal requests from all business areas and advise on legal concepts and risk aligned with strategic business objectives
• Represent OKX in relevant industry associations and promote OKX's viewpoint in regulatory consultation efforts

What you bring

• Law degree from a top-tier law school and qualified to practice law in the EEA
• 14+ years of legal experience at a top-tier law firm and/or in-house legal team, preferably in cryptocurrency, digital assets, or financial services
• Experience advising on digital asset and blockchain technology legal issues with strong understanding of the relevant legal and regulatory landscape
• Experience working with EU regulators and maintaining EU financial services and/or crypto exchange licenses
• Strong communication and leadership skills with excellent judgment
• Ability to work independently and contribute as both an individual and team member, with limited reliance on external counsel
• Ability to effectively advise and build trust with business teams
• Comfort navigating a rapidly changing legal landscape and dealing with legal ambiguity
• Experience working on cross-jurisdictional matters and within global legal teams
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-stage, multicultural environment
