Head of EEA Legal, Deputy General Counsel

As Head of EEA Legal and Deputy General Counsel at OKX, you will lead the legal function across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. You play a central role in shaping OKX's regulatory and legal strategy in this region, working closely with the EEA CEO and reporting into the Global Legal team. This role combines hands-on legal management, cross-functional advisory, and strategic leadership in an evolving regulatory and crypto landscape.

What you'll do

• Support OKX's business expansion in the EEA, serving as the primary legal point of contact for the OKX EEA entity and supporting licensing and legal efforts to expand into the UK market
• Provide strategic legal and regulatory guidance across all coverage areas, including product development, regulatory matters, IP and trademark enforcement, corporate governance, licensing, token listings for OKX Europe, contract negotiation, compliance, institutional sales and partnerships, and marketing and advertising
• Analyse and advise on the legal risk of new and existing digital assets, managing the legal component of the new asset review process
• Lead and manage lawyers covering the EEA to ensure legal efforts are coordinated and consistently achieve successful outcomes
• Collaborate with product and business development teams to achieve company-wide projects and goals
• Manage legal requests from all areas of the business and advise on legal concepts and legal risk with an eye towards the strategic goals of business leaders
• Represent OKX in relevant industry associations and promote OKX's viewpoint in consultation efforts
• Serve as a member of the EU management team and represent the legal function at relevant Board and committee meetings

What you bring

• A law degree from a top-tier law school and qualification to practice law in the EEA
• 14+ years of legal experience at a top-tier law firm and/or in-house legal team, preferably in the cryptocurrency/digital assets and/or financial services industry
• Strong experience advising on digital asset and blockchain technology legal issues with a deep understanding of the relevant legal and regulatory landscape
• Experience working with EU regulators and maintaining EU financial services and/or crypto exchange licenses
• Experience working on cross-jurisdictional matters and with global legal teams
• Strong communication and leadership skills, with excellent judgment
• Ability to contribute as both an individual and a team member, with limited reliance upon external counsel
• Ability to effectively advise and build trust with business teams
• Ability to navigate through a rapidly-changing legal landscape and deal with legal ambiguity
• Comfort working independently in a fast-paced, growth-stage and multi-cultural environment
• Ability to work in a high-functioning legal team and feel comfortable in a collaborative working environment
