Head of Events, Consensus

As Head of Events at BULLISH, you lead, scale, and elevate CoinDesk's global events division, anchored by Consensus-the world's largest and longest-running gathering where institutional finance, traditional capital markets, and digital asset pioneers converge. You hold full strategic and P&L accountability for the events business, managing a high-performing team across operations, marketing, programming, and production. Your mission is to defend Consensus's position as the industry benchmark while driving audience acquisition and new revenue streams across both traditional finance and emerging technology sectors.

What you'll do

• Design and execute a multi-year growth strategy for the events business, focusing on scaling Consensus attendance, expanding its global footprint, and launching new regional events or niche spin-offs
• Assume full financial accountability for the events business unit and partner with the Sales team to architect high-value sponsorship packages, optimize ticket-pricing tiers, and maximize profitability
• Oversee data-driven marketing campaigns to expand the event's audience base, successfully targeting traditional finance, institutional investors, policymakers, and mainstream tech sectors alongside the core crypto community
• Manage, mentor, and inspire a multidisciplinary events team across operations, logistics, marketing, and content, ensuring seamless alignment with the Editorial team to deliver world-class programming
• Partner with Event Operations and Procurement to steer vendor negotiations, venue selections, and technology stack integrations to ensure flawless, safe, and premium experiential execution for tens of thousands of attendees
• Secure Consensus's year-over-year market dominance, achieve ambitious revenue and profit margin milestones, and successfully diversify the portfolio to hedge against crypto market cyclicality

What you bring

• 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in large-scale B2B conference production, commercial media, or experiential events, with a proven track record running flagship events scaling over 10,000+ attendees
• Proven experience managing multi-million dollar P&Ls, with a deep understanding of event economics, digital and physical hybrid infrastructure, and corporate sponsorship sales
• Experience within tech, media, or financial services events; strong familiarity with the cryptocurrency, blockchain, or fintech landscape is highly preferred
• Charismatic, high-energy leadership with exceptional executive presence, sharp negotiation skills, and the ability to remain calm and decisive under high-pressure, fast-moving environments
• Advanced knowledge of modern event technology ecosystems such as Cvent, Bizzabo, and Hopin, CRM systems such as Salesforce, data analytics platforms, and modern digital marketing stacks

What we offer

• Base salary of $285,000-$340,000 plus discretionary annual target bonus and performance incentives
• Based in New York City with 4 days per week onsite at the Chelsea office
