Head of Legal

As Head of Legal at Crypto Exchange, you build and lead the legal function for a cross-border digital asset operation. You establish compliance frameworks, manage legal risk across core business lines including product, ecosystem partnerships, and investment, and oversee a growing legal team while ensuring the company operates within evolving global regulatory requirements.

What you'll do

• Build and maintain a legal management system aligned with the company's needs, define compliance standards and legal risk control processes, and provide legal protection for business development
• Provide legal feasibility analysis, risk warnings, and landing support for core businesses including product operation, ecosystem cooperation, investment and financing, and cross-border business partnerships
• Support cross-border business expansion by understanding regulatory rules in Dubai, Europe and other jurisdictions, working with business and compliance teams on legal landing, and managing cross-border cooperation and risk control
• Oversee all contract governance, including drafting, review, negotiation, and archiving of commercial contracts, cooperation agreements, technical agreements, investment and financing agreements, and ecosystem partnership agreements; develop standardised contract templates to mitigate legal risk
• Establish internal legal management systems, handle labour disputes, commercial disputes, intellectual property infringement, and on-chain disputes, and lead litigation, arbitration, dispute mediation, and regulatory inquiry responses
• Monitor industry policy developments, analyse the impact of regulatory changes on the business, provide risk warnings and optimisation suggestions, and respond to routine regulatory inquiries and inspections
• Establish and manage the legal team, coordinate work division and efficiency, conduct legal knowledge training across business teams, and strengthen legal risk awareness across the company

What you bring

• Bachelor's degree or above in law and a legal professional qualification certificate
• More than 10 years of legal practice experience, ideally including legal management roles at internet giants, leading blockchain companies, or cross-border fintech organisations
• Proficiency in digital asset operations, on-chain business, and cross-border Web3 business compliance; familiarity with mainstream local virtual asset regulatory frameworks and compliance pathways
• Rich practical experience across all modules of corporate law, with expertise in commercial risk control, dispute handling, and contract system management
• Experience providing legal support for cross-border business, commercial investment and financing, intellectual property, labour compliance, and contract risk control
• Excellent contract writing, business negotiation, and risk assessment skills; strong logical thinking and sense of responsibility
• Proven team management and cross-department collaboration capabilities; strong stress resistance and adaptability to rapidly changing policies and business rhythms
• English proficiency as a working language
