Onboarding Specialist

As an Onboarding Specialist at Wintermute, you manage the timely and compliant onboarding of new counterparties while ensuring the firm meets its AML/CTF obligations. You conduct KYC reviews, risk assessments, and transaction monitoring, working across trading, operations, product and compliance teams to optimize processes at scale.

What you'll do

• Conduct reviews of counterparties' documentation and ensure consistency with the firm's AML/CTF procedures
• Complete periodic KYC reviews and refresh onboarding documentation as necessary
• Manage, maintain and review appropriate onboarding documentation
• Complete risk assessments for new and existing counterparties, identifying potential AML/CTF concerns and escalating to the MLRO when necessary
• Perform wallet screening, Politically Exposed Persons (PEP), Sanctions and Adverse Media checks
• Work with trading, business operations, product and compliance teams to optimize and automate processes and improve counterparty experience
• Investigate and analyse automated transaction monitoring alerts to determine whether transactions may be AML/CTF related
• Provide compliance support and assist with broader compliance projects as assigned

What you bring

• At least 2+ years of financial crime compliance experience
• Knowledge of Singapore's Anti-Money Laundering Regulations and applicable sanctions regimes including the UN, EU, OFAC and HMT
• Proven hands-on experience running efficient, scalable B2B compliance processes including automation and external tools
• Ability to think strategically while executing effectively and being hands-on; drive to get things done
• Owner mentality focused on protecting the company from compliance risk while supporting growth and commercial success
• Strong interest and curiosity in algorithmic trading and decentralized finance
• Alignment with Wintermute culture values of determination, ambition, humility and drive to action
• Willingness to work non-standard hours as required
• Ability to work in a team environment from the Singapore office
