As a Senior Rust Engineer at Keyrock, you join the Capital Markets division to own high-impact trading infrastructure. You will take technical ownership of mission-critical trading systems, set direction in your domain, and drive continuous improvement in system performance, reliability, and operability. This role is open to candidates in European time zones and involves senior individual-contributor impact within a highly profitable, fully remote global team.

What you'll do

  • Design, develop, and optimise low-latency, mission-critical trading systems
  • Own key trading stack components end-to-end, from architecture through to production operation
  • Collaborate closely with quants, traders, and engineers to deliver solutions that improve trading performance and resilience
  • Maintain and evolve trading infrastructure with a focus on performance, stability, observability, and operational excellence
  • Troubleshoot complex production issues across exchange connectivity, execution, and market data handling
  • Drive engineering standards through technical leadership, code reviews, and mentoring
  • Leverage AI-assisted workflows, drive automation of operational tasks, and help evolve the team's agentic tooling
  • Contribute to functional, component, and production-readiness testing for critical trading components

What you bring

  • Production-grade Rust experience building high-performance, concurrent systems; proficiency with Tokio is a strong advantage
  • Hands-on experience in a systematic trading environment (HFT, Market Making, Quantitative Trading, or similar), with solid understanding of execution, market data, and operational risk
  • Strong AWS and Linux expertise, including cloud infrastructure trade-offs for latency-sensitive workloads, shell scripting, debugging, and production troubleshooting
  • Proficiency in Python or other scripting languages for strategy development, automation, and operational tooling
  • Deep familiarity with trading system protocols (FIX, REST, WebSocket), exchange connectivity, and market data feeds
  • Solid grasp of low-latency networking, including TCP/UDP, packet and latency path analysis, dedicated network infrastructure, and kernel bypass techniques such as DPDK
  • Familiarity with agentic engineering tools and concepts, including LLMs, MCP APIs, AI-First IDEs (e.g. Cursor, Claude Code), harness engineering, and workflow automation
  • Ability to make sound architectural decisions, articulate trade-offs clearly, and guide implementation across complex systems
  • Ownership and reliability: take full responsibility for your work, deliver high-quality service, meet deadlines, and follow through on commitments
  • Initiative and problem-solving with an entrepreneurial mindset to make sound independent judgments and drive solutions
  • Operational diligence to respond strategically to technical and operational challenges while ensuring robust trading infrastructure
  • Technical leadership to influence system design, raise engineering standards, mentor other engineers, and guide high-quality technical decisions
  • Curiosity and a growth mindset, continuously improving your technical skills and staying ahead of industry trends
  • Embrace of agentic engineering and AI-assisted workflows to push the boundaries of what engineering teams can achieve
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to working within a fully remote global team

What we offer

  • A competitive salary package
  • Flexible working hours and the opportunity to work remotely
  • Autonomy in your time management and the freedom to create your own entrepreneurial experience within a team in search of excellence
