Senior Back-End Engineer, Trading Platform

As a Senior Back-End Engineer on Blockchain's Institutional trading platform team, you'll build low-latency, scalable trading services in Rust that power millions of transactions. You'll join a high-performance engineering team based in London, working on critical systems including Order Management Systems (OMS), exchange gateways, and risk management infrastructure.

What you'll do

• Build low-latency, scalable and highly performant trading services in Rust, including Order Management Systems (OMS), exchange gateways, and risk management systems
• Enhance and maintain OMS functionality to ensure efficient order execution, routing, and management in a high-frequency trading environment
• Work at the forefront of the cryptocurrency exchange ecosystem, building new financial services, systems and architecture
• Gain exposure to low-latency, high-throughput techniques and algorithms
• Ensure security is at the forefront of everything you build, employing advanced encryption schemes to protect user and company data
• Work closely with other tech teams to deliver high-quality products and improve performance across the platform

What you bring

• Extensive experience in C++ and/or Rust
• Experience with Python and SQL
• Proficiency in multithreading, network programming (including multicast), and performance benchmarking and tuning
• Experience in trading systems architecture, including Order Management Systems (OMS), exchange gateway connectivity, market data ingestion and processing, and high-throughput, low-latency systems
• A deep commitment to high-quality software, with testing embedded throughout the development process: unit testing, integration testing, performance testing, and failure recovery testing
• A pragmatic approach to developing clean solutions to complex problems
• A solid understanding of algorithms, data structures, databases and distributed systems
