As a Senior Finance Manager, Settlement & Reconciliation at OKX, you lead and enhance settlement and reconciliation operations across both digital assets and fiat. You bridge Finance, Settlement Operations, Product, Engineering, and other stakeholders, translating settlement and accounting requirements into clear system, data, and reporting requirements. This role demands more than operational expertise: you need a solid understanding of trading and settlement system architecture and how settlement systems interact with trading platforms, custody infrastructure, and accounting systems. You will build a settlement and reconciliation function that is operationally effective, system-driven, highly reconcilable, and finance-ready.

What you'll do

  • Lead and oversee day-to-day settlement operations across digital asset and fiat transactions, ensuring they settle accurately, completely, and within required timelines.
  • Establish and continuously improve settlement procedures, controls, exception handling, and escalation mechanisms.
  • Identify settlement breaks, operational risks, and process inefficiencies, and drive timely resolution.
  • Support new products, transaction flows, and business models by assessing their settlement and operational requirements.
  • Develop a strong understanding of end-to-end settlement system architecture and transaction data flow, including how settlement systems interface with trading systems, wallet and custody infrastructure, fiat banking and payment systems, data warehouse and reporting platforms, and finance and accounting systems.
  • Work closely with Product and Engineering teams to define settlement-related system requirements and translate operational and finance requirements into clear data, system, and reporting specifications.
  • Define the reports, data fields, transaction-level information, and reconciliation logic required to support settlement operations and financial accounting.
  • Participate in system implementation, enhancement, user acceptance testing, and post-implementation validation from a settlement and finance-control perspective.
  • Own and oversee digital asset reconciliation, including reconciliation among customer balances, internal ledgers, wallet and on-chain balances, custody records, and other relevant source systems.
  • Investigate and resolve reconciliation differences, including transaction timing differences, system exceptions, missing transactions, and data inconsistencies.
  • Work with Product, Engineering, Data, Wallet, and Finance teams to identify root causes and implement sustainable remediation.
  • Establish appropriate reconciliation controls and monitoring mechanisms to ensure completeness and accuracy of digital asset balances and movements.
  • Own and oversee fiat reconciliation across customer balances, banking and custodian records, payment channels, internal operational systems, and the general ledger.
  • Ensure customer fiat assets and liabilities can be reconciled to relevant operational and accounting records.
  • Investigate reconciliation breaks and coordinate with Finance, Fiat Operations, Product, Engineering, banks, custodians, and payment service providers for resolution.
  • Drive automation and system improvements to reduce manual reconciliation and operational dependency.
  • Oversee transaction-level reconciliation covering customer trades, deposits, withdrawals, transfers, settlements, and other relevant transaction activities.
  • Ensure customer transaction records can be traced consistently across trading, settlement, operational, and accounting systems.
  • Establish effective exception-management processes for unmatched or incomplete transactions.
  • Support Finance and external audit requirements by ensuring transaction data and reconciliation evidence are complete, accurate, and traceable.
  • Partner closely with Finance to ensure settlement data and reports provide sufficient information for accurate and timely accounting.
  • Understand how trading and settlement activities ultimately flow into financial records and the general ledger.
  • Define operational reports and data outputs required by Finance for accounting entries, period-end closing, balance sheet reconciliation, customer asset and liability reconciliation, and financial and external audit support.
  • Identify gaps between operational systems and accounting requirements and work with relevant teams to develop scalable solutions.
  • Build and maintain robust settlement and reconciliation standard operating procedures, controls, and governance frameworks.
  • Drive automation and process improvements to improve settlement efficiency, accuracy, scalability, and control.
  • Establish key operational metrics and monitor settlement exceptions, reconciliation breaks, aging items, and resolution timelines.
  • Manage and develop the settlement team, ensuring clear ownership, effective prioritization, and strong execution.
  • Act as a senior escalation point for complex settlement, reconciliation, and transaction-related issues.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders across Finance, Product, Engineering, Data, Operations, Risk, Compliance, and other relevant teams.

What you bring

  • A bachelor's degree or above in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
  • Significant experience in settlement, clearing, reconciliation, transaction operations, custody, or related financial operations, with experience in a managerial or senior leadership role.
  • Strong experience with customer transaction reconciliation and transaction-level data analysis.
  • A solid understanding of trading lifecycle and settlement processes.
  • Prior experience in traditional financial institutions, such as banks, securities firms, broker-dealers, exchanges, clearing houses, custodians, payment institutions, or other transaction-intensive financial businesses.
  • A strong understanding of how trading systems, settlement systems, reconciliation platforms, and accounting systems interact.
  • The ability to understand system and data architecture and translate operational or finance requirements into clear requirements for Product and Engineering teams.
  • Strong experience in designing or defining operational reports, reconciliation reports, and transaction-level data requirements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate complex reconciliation differences and identify root causes.
  • A strong understanding of operational controls, data completeness, accuracy, and transaction traceability.
  • Excellent stakeholder-management and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both Finance and technical teams.
  • A strong ownership mindset and ability to operate effectively in an evolving business environment.

Nice to have

  • Experience in cryptocurrency, digital assets, exchanges, fintech, brokerage, or other high-volume transaction platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with digital asset, wallet, or on-chain reconciliation.
  • Experience with fiat payment, banking, custodian, or payment-service-provider reconciliation.
  • Experience participating in settlement or reconciliation system implementation and transformation projects.
  • Experience working with Product and Engineering teams on system design, data requirements, reporting logic, user acceptance testing, and process automation.
  • Familiarity with accounting systems, general ledger processes, and period-end financial reconciliation.
  • Experience supporting internal or external audit requests relating to transaction completeness, settlement, or reconciliation.
  • SQL, data analytics, or other data-querying experience.

What we offer

  • Competitive total compensation package
  • Learning and development programs and education subsidy for your growth and development
  • Various team building programs and company events
