Senior Legal Counsel, Data Center

As Senior Legal Counsel, Data Center at Bitdeer, you will support the development, construction, and operation of data centers across Singapore, Malaysia, and Southeast Asia. You join a world-leading technology company for Bitcoin mining and AI cloud, handling complex contractual and regulatory matters across the full data center lifecycle.

What you'll do

• Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements supporting data center development, construction, and operation, including procurement and equipment supply agreements, EPC and construction contracts, land and facility leases, services agreements, colocation agreements, and interconnection arrangements.
• Lead and manage contract negotiations with vendors, contractors, landlords, customers, and service providers, balancing commercial objectives against legal, regulatory, and operational risk.
• Provide practical, business-oriented legal support to project, construction, procurement, and operations teams on contractual and regulatory matters across the full data center lifecycle.
• Develop and maintain contract templates, playbooks, and standard negotiating positions to drive consistency and faster turnaround across the contracting process.
• Conduct legal research, monitor relevant legal and regulatory developments in Singapore and Malaysia, identify and help mitigate potential legal and compliance risks, and coordinate with and manage external counsel and other service providers as needed.

What you bring

• A law degree (LL.B., J.D., or equivalent) from an accredited law school.
• 8+ years of post-qualification legal experience, ideally combining a leading law firm and an in-house corporate legal department.
• Proven ability to independently draft, review, and lead negotiations on a broad range of complex commercial agreements.
• Strong commercial judgment, with the ability to balance legal risk against business objectives.
• Excellent legal drafting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong spoken and written communication skills, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Proactive, solution-oriented approach, able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• High ethical standards and professional integrity.

Nice to have

• Admission to the Singapore or Malaysia Bar, or another relevant common law jurisdiction.
• Familiarity with Singapore and/or Malaysia legal and regulatory requirements.
• Hands-on experience with data center, infrastructure, construction/EPC, real estate and leasing, energy, procurement, or technology and outsourcing transactions.
