Dow Jones Newswires seeks an experienced financial journalist to drive markets coverage in the Asia-Pacific region from Singapore. You will work on the front lines of real-time operations, putting major market-moving news in your hands, from multibillion-dollar equity swings to coordinated currency intervention. A key focus is digital assets and crypto coverage as the sector attracts significant investment flows in Asia. You will help shape and elevate content across a team of versatile reporters and identify top market stories that can lead across all platforms.

What you'll do

• Exercise exceptional news judgment to identify high-impact news for market professionals, efficiently prioritizing and summarizing developments into smart briefs and analysis of what the news means for investors
• Deliver rapid-fire headlines and go behind the news to explain what is driving shifts in asset prices
• Break news, quickly contextualize events, distill complex regulation, and tap into trading rooms to understand the forces moving markets
• Demonstrate sharp numeracy, draw on deep financial knowledge, and confidently analyze the data behind a story in real time
• Collaborate across teams, including Dow Jones Newswires, The Wall Street Journal, and global bureaus
• Uphold the highest Dow Jones standards and ethics
• Anticipate the needs and expectations of Dow Jones Newswires' core institutional audiences

What you bring

• A minimum of five years of newsroom experience, preferably in financial journalism
• A well-honed sense of urgency and proven composure under breaking-news pressure
• The ability to prioritize competing deadlines while handling multiple responsibilities
• Deep intellectual curiosity and a drive to master complex market trends
• Agility in navigating fluid news cycles and coordinating seamless handoffs
• Proven familiarity with real-time newsroom workflows
