Senior/Staff Engineer - Trading Exchange Middle Platform- Market Analysis

As a Senior/Staff Engineer on OKX's Exchange Middle Platform team, you design and optimize the core modules that power our trading products, including the matching engine, real-time market data streaming, and market data analysis. This role is critical to our industry-leading trading platform used by millions of users worldwide. You will work on systems handling spot, futures, perpetual swaps, and options trading, leveraging AI technologies to enhance efficiency and performance.

What you'll do

• Design and implement innovative solutions for our full range of trading products including spot, futures, perpetual swaps, and options
• Build out real-time market data gateway
• Optimize performance across the trading architecture to achieve low latency, high availability, and scalability

What you bring

• Expertise in Java with a solid understanding of object-oriented programming, concurrency, and system-level programming
• Proven ability to develop and optimize low-latency, high-throughput, and high-availability systems
• Expertise in performance tuning, memory management, and concurrency optimization
• Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving complex system issues using tools such as profilers, debuggers, and log analyzers
• Ability to perform low-level debugging, including assembly language debugging when needed
• A solid STEM (Science/Technology/Engineering/Mathematics) education background
• Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, system design, and network protocols

Nice to have

• Experience in large internet companies with a background in developing and maintaining high-availability, high-performance systems and hands-on experience supporting large-scale peak traffic scenarios
• Familiarity with low-latency systems, real-time applications, or high-frequency trading platforms
• Knowledge of message-oriented middleware or asynchronous programming paradigms
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools such as CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), or cloud platforms
• Bilingualism in Mandarin and English, as the team works with stakeholders across different regions
• Experience with AI technologies to improve efficiency
