Software Engineer Crypto Services

As a Software Engineer in the Crypto Services team at ABN AMRO, you join an agile DevOps team building and maintaining the critical platforms that safeguard customers, enable secure banking, and protect the bank's digital infrastructure. You'll develop secure backend services and APIs supporting key management, certificate lifecycle management, and Hardware Security Module (HSM) integrations, working closely with security specialists, platform engineers, and product owners.

What you'll do

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain secure, resilient, and high-performing solutions throughout the entire software development lifecycle
• Develop secure backend services and APIs supporting key management, certificate lifecycle management, and HSM integrations
• Analyze, optimize, and improve API performance in distributed systems
• Take ownership of your work, actively contribute ideas, and share knowledge with teammates
• Collaborate with security specialists, platform engineers, and product owners to deliver critical security services used across the bank

What you bring

• Hands-on experience writing clean, maintainable, and efficient code in Java, C#, or comparable programming languages, with a strong focus on engineering best practices and code quality
• Hands-on experience with Python, particularly in developing, securing, and optimizing APIs
• Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs, with a focus on clean architecture and maintainable codebases
• Curiosity and willingness to learn and grow within the cryptographic domain
