Software Engineer - DevOps Team

As a Software Engineer on Wincent's DevOps team, you'll build and maintain ultra-fast, resilient infrastructure for a next-generation crypto trading platform that executes orders seamlessly across 10+ exchanges. You'll work with experienced engineers from Amazon, Google, and academic backgrounds from Berkeley, Caltech, ETH, and MIT to optimize infrastructure, networking, and cloud performance, enabling trading teams to deploy strategies at lightning speed.

What you'll do

• Support engineering teams by maintaining and improving the high-frequency trading (HFT) platform across multiple cloud and on-premises environments
• Work on network, operating system, and application layers to achieve ultra-low latency and high system reliability
• Enhance the developer experience by introducing modern tools, automation, and best practices across infrastructure and development workflows
• Explore and implement new technologies to optimize infrastructure performance and scalability

What you bring

• 5+ years of strong coding background with knowledge of Python, Ansible, or Terraform
• Strong DevOps experience including troubleshooting Kubernetes and Docker, debugging applications, profiling, and at least basic network administration
• Experience with AWS cloud, plus knowledge of other cloud platforms and networking and monitoring expertise
• A deep understanding of distributed systems, scalability, and performance optimization
• Proactive use of performance metrics, logs, and monitoring data to inform optimization decisions and validate infrastructure changes
• Ownership and problem-solving mindset: you manage your own agenda, deliver results, and operate with autonomy
• Strong teamwork and communication skills, working as a single unit rather than individual contributors
• Direct, honest communication; willingness to challenge decisions when you disagree while committing fully once a decision is final

What we offer

• Competitive base salary of 80,000€ to 150,000€ per year, tailored to your expertise and seniority, with flexibility to go higher in specific cases
• Semi-annual bonus tied directly to individual excellence and the fund's overall performance; in exceptional cases, bonuses can exceed 50% of yearly total compensation
