Software Engineer - DevOps Team

As a Software Engineer on Wincent's DevOps team, you'll build ultra-fast, resilient infrastructure for a next-generation crypto trading platform that executes orders seamlessly across 10+ exchanges. You'll work alongside experienced engineers from Amazon, Google, and academic leaders from Berkeley, Caltech, ETH, and MIT to optimize infrastructure, networking, and cloud performance so trading teams can deploy strategies at lightning speed.

What you'll do

• Support engineering teams by maintaining and improving the high-frequency trading (HFT) platform across multiple cloud and on-premises environments
• Work on network, operating system, and application layers to achieve ultra-low latency and high system reliability
• Enhance developer experience by introducing modern tools, automation, and best practices across infrastructure and development workflows
• Explore and implement new technologies to further optimize infrastructure performance and scalability

What you bring

• 5+ years of strong coding background with senior-level engineering expertise
• Strong DevOps background with hands-on experience troubleshooting Kubernetes and Docker, debugging applications, profiling, and network administration
• Proficiency with AWS cloud, plus knowledge of other cloud platforms as an advantage
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, scalability, and performance optimization
• Ability to proactively use performance metrics, logs, and monitoring data to inform optimization decisions and debug complex issues
• Ownership mindset and problem-solving skills, functioning as a self-directed engineer who owns their agenda and delivers results
• Collaborative spirit with strong teamwork and communication skills, operating as a unified unit rather than individual contributors

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Python, Ansible, or Terraform
• Networking and monitoring expertise

What we offer

• Competitive base salary of 80,000 EUR to 150,000 EUR per year, tailored to your expertise and seniority, with potential for higher base in exceptional cases
